Soooo.... I located a set of fairly good wheels today. I polished the barrels and they turned out great but most of the clear coat had to be removed during the process. Can anyone recommend something to recoat them with
?

I have used Cerakote on firearms with great results, I don't doubt this stuff does what they say it will. If I ever get around to repolishing my factory wheels this is what I'll be using.

A lot of antique motorcyclists use a product called Sharkhide on aluminum engine cases after polishing. I’ve used it for this and it has held up about 4 years on a seldom used bike. I’ve seen it used on pontoon boats used in salt water. Amazing how good they looked but have no idea how long it holds up in that type of environment. Can’t imagine how long it takes to polish the 20something pontoons. Sharkhide makes cleaner and polish for aluminum as well as the cleaner.
