So...I recently took the plunge and replaced my hazard switch in the dash due to a buzzing turn signal. Not that I have to tell anyone here, but that job was NOT fun! But I got it done with the help of YouTube & other helpful c5 owner hints.
Anyway, now when I use the turn signal, it ‘hyper flashes’ all the time, like there is a bulb out. It does this with both left and right signaling. I’ve checked all the lights and they all work. Hazards work normally as they should. Thoughts on why this happens? It’s kind of annoying to be at a light and hear that thing click away... Thanks in advance!!
Correct me I am wrong but Isn't the harness used to cure hyperflashing due to the installation of LED bulbs? I replaced the hazard switch in my car and didn't have any hyperflash issues afterwards.
Like the OP said Why would he get hyperflash if he has new switch and all lights work and I assume no LEDs. I had a signal light out and Hflash and switch was bad as well, replaced both and no more issues. I am thinking the switch could be bad even though it is NEW. When I replaced mine I left it hanging under the dash for a week or so until I was sure it worked and then put it back in its place. GO figure

No reason that I know of for the lights to hyper flash unless you have LEDs or a bad new switch. Good luck getting this resolved - hate to see you have to tear the dash apart again.
Thanks to all for your feedback! Hyper flash bypass purchased, although I agree I figured based on feedback the hazard switch replacement was ‘root cause’...apparently not! At least when I did the hazard switch, I waited to install an MGW shifter at same time to minimize the dash pulling reps!
I did a bunch of research on this the other night because the car I just bought has had occasional no signals....
Everybody says first step is the hazard switch. Only problem I have with that is it seems that there are not any actual GM switches available and everything is aftermarket. Ive had poor luck with aftermarket electrical parts.
The next stuff is the signal relay and the flash relay... appears to be two separate relays under the dash... I couldnt find anybody who had actually changed them or if its even possible because everybody jumps straight to throwing a "hyper flash bypass" in because it bypasses the signal relay and "fixes" the problem.
So it seems you fixed the switch(unless you got a bad aftermarket switch) and then you probably(or originally) had/have a bad relay and will remedy with the hyper-flash relay setup... which isnt a bad option and proven to work.
