I've always liked the smoothline hardtops. Was really close to getting a C6 and tracking down their version of the hardtop so I could get a C6 with a roofline close to the C5 FRC/Z06.
Having said that, what's up with the fitment? Looks horrible with the huge *** gap from the center on to the passenger side where it is sitting on the body.
I got one.
It fit ok across the back and was of good quality finish but the weatherstripping they supplied leaked like a siv on the highway.
I got some used oem Vert weatherstripping from VetteNuts which fixed it.

Perhaps some of that gap is in the way the car itself was put together? Just wondering, because the pic of his Vert looks to have a larger gap in the same place. Maybe just optical illusion on Vert, don't know. I have a 2000 Vert, and I know years ago a LOT of people complained about the quality of Smoothline tops. Maybe they're better now.
Can it be removed, and convertible top be put on for the nice weather? That’s why I bought a convertible in the first place. If they are interchangeable I will get one

It fits on with the convertible top down, there's nothing to remove
I had both tops for my ‘68 vert I owned in the late ‘80s. Loved the lines of the hard top back then but didn’t care for dealing with it when I wanted it off. Main thing I like about the C5 soft top is that it is so easy to put down, store, and put back up. Literally, it can be put up or down in 15-20 seconds. The ‘68 wasn’t quite as easy. I even really like that the C5 top is manual with no motors to think about.
I had a Mercedes SLK with the convertible hard top. They were known to have issues as they aged with the mechanism failing. The price to repair was astronomical. That’s why the C5 top is so great. Hand operated beats lazy automatic tops any day.
Those exhaust tips..I’m sure they’ve been corrected since then but that pic should’ve never made the internet.
Meh I was showing the top as it came
600 SC rwhp M6 makes up for uneven exhaust tips.
Added some extra hangers which worked but the clamps need replacing.
Got tired of adjusting the tips and don't care now that I have a "Corvette SUV" modified to spin the blower faster 800 hp Trackhawk as a daily driver
