Well about two months ago when I was stopped on I-90 to put the top back on my car, a kid pulled off the road and totaled my car. Talk about depressing!
I shopped for two months, searching most of the Western United States to find a replacement Torch Red coupe. You might be surprised at how few there are for sale. I started to look at a couple other colors.
I finally saw a nice one come up in Sacramento (I live in Seattle) and immediately started having dreams of a nice long roadtrip! I flew down there last weekend, test drove the car and drove nonstop back to Seattle! An epic drive for sure.
Amazingly, I only saw two state troopers all the way, one in California going through Shasta (a really nice Ford F350 and a fifth wheel off the road and totaled... and just over the border from Oregon to Washington was a 6 car pile up around midnight. It was rainy and added about 20 minutes to my mild "cannonball run".
Here are the only pics I've taken so far, we've not had weather to go snap some good ones of the shiny red coupe!
I'd do it again, 10/10!
Just cutting out of Sacramento, the rainbow was taken as a good sign. At a rest stop near Shasta, parts unknown. Original Window Sticker!
You did good ... real good neighbor. Love your torch red ride. You're right, I think it's rained for about 8 straight days and our wind lately has been real bad. Saturday looks promising. You might get it out.

Oh, man that was my second favorite color - I had found a nice one in Olympia with 74k and it was going to be the car if I couldn't get down to Sacramento! Hope to see you out on the roads!! 👋🏼 Save The Wave!
Honestly, it was pretty traumatic. It was my first Corvette and I felt like I let the heritage down on my watch.
No way Adam, as I remember your story, you were completely off the roadway when some I-dot ( my little word for non driving idiots) damn near took you and your Vette to the graveyard.
I hope this one is as nice as your first was and you’ll be able to put that horrible experience in the rear view. Sounds like you had a great road trip to get familiar with the 2.0

You have a good memory, you must be younger than me!! hahaha
Yeah, man, blink of an eye: went from a great road trip to concussion and emergency room!! But I survived and knew I was gonna be back in the fold as soon as I could.
I wanted to pull the trigger on a few other cars but am glad I didn't. This gentleman in California knew now to take care of a car. It is a pleasure!
Glad you’re doing well again and back into a Vette. Sometimes I think these cars pick the person and not the other way....mine did I know that. Those long trips to pick one up is sure a blast too.
