I was perusing LS parts and always keep my eyes out for elusive LS2 throttle bodies. I came across these new LS2 throttle bodies - for what seems to be an almost too good to be true price. So I ordered one out of curiosity and to have a spare on the shelf (I am the typical car guy parts hoarder). I compared it to my first LS2 TB that didn't play well with my car and it's clearly a new non-GM casting and is manufactured by TRQ Autoparts. I am sure it's a Chinese product, but none the less here is the link if anyone is interested. I am keeping it and next time I have my intake apart I will install it to see what it does.
The TB on my car now is a remanufactured GM TB by Cardone that I found on Oreillys website and it was the last one in stock anywhere. It’s been absolutely fine.
So I wondered if I was just buying a different house brand of the same part. But definitely not.
so here are to e side by side comparisons of a GM TB and the TRQ TB. The GM is the bottom unit in the pictures
Ultimately if the ChinaRona Throttle Body works as designed its a hell of a deal. When I have time in the next week or two I’ll remove my remanufactured GM TB and see if this thing throws any codes etc.
Interestingly enough I also tried ordering the reman unit from Orielys and they ultimately ended up canceling it saying that they had no means of telling me when they could get it to me. This was around 1 year ago.
I currently have a VMAX ported ls2 throttle body and while I can't say I've had any problems with it there sure seems to be a lot of negative posts about ported throttle bodies.

It's a real pain in the *** to source a decent LS2 TB. I bought the GM TB in the picture from a forum member who sells a quite a few of them on here and my tuner said it was hanging open and recommended replacing it. I happened to find the one single Oreilly Auto / Cardone LS2 TB in the country and felt like I hit the lottery in June of this year. The one on the pictures may just need cleaned up in the way Ron described above. But I was happy to find it.

Looks like China has answered the demand - even rock auto has the chinese LS2 throttle bodies. I will throw this thing on this weekend and see what's what with it.
I bought one of these for my 08.Tried it for about 100 miles and everything worked fine with no codes. You may have gotten a bad one.I still have an extra GM for a spare along with this one so I should be set for awhile.
Ok now I'm confused. Isn't an 08 an LS3? so what Cinci is saying could be correct. They may have built them wrong. Supposed to be for an LS2 but wired accordingly for an LS3 but without the gold blade. Very interesting.
I have one of these TRQs new in the box and if it's not gonna work it is likely a paperweight. I think too much time has gone by to return it.
I installed one of these TRQ throttle bodies on my 08 z06 over the weekend. It was throwing throttle body sensor codes and going into reduced engine power / service traction system and since I couldn't get a GM part I figured I'd give this a try.
So far everything works, no CELs, idles fine, drives fine. Hopefully it stays happy.
Easiest install I've ever done on a car. I'm still keeping a look out for a GM throttle body for a reasonable price but I'll happily run this thing until it breaks.
