Default Mystery Hose

Took off my plastic valve covers and was horrified to see this tube coming off so sort of green value that goes to nothing. Looks like something was taped to it at one time. This is on the drivers side, close to the windshield. Not very mechanical, so this is the best I can describe it.

Here is a pic of the same area from my untouched 2001 Z06. I don’t see that hose.

It’s a 97, which I understand had a lot of 1 year parts. Appreciate you showing my what a newer model C5 looks like
