Electrical woes
My uncle wants me to use his 2003 anniversary edition convertible while he is storing it in my barn. Which is great, its in beautiful shape for having almost 127k miles. Unfortunately it seems to have a couple of gremlins. The drivers door controls only work about 25% of the time, and when they do or don't it is all of them together. I'm guessing its a grounding issue? Anybody have any experience with this and know where to look for the wire?
The other bugaboo is the HUD. When you first start the car, every single light on the HUD (speed, shift, etc.) is illuminated at full brightness. You can physically move it up or down on the windshield, but it doesn't respond to any other controls (brightness/mode) on the dash. After 10 or so minutes minutes it doesn't appear to be illuminated any more and nothing will bring it back other than a power cycle.
Since it's my uncle's car I really don't want to stick a ton of money in it, but I don't mind a little poking around.
Thanks,
Simon
