Default Need Help with ZO6 Wheel Upgrade

Ok, I really ReallY like the way the stock ZO6 wheels look. What I dont like is that I cant put BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KD's on the front (said they dont make a 265/35-17 in the KD  ) So to remedy this I got the idea to upgrade just the front wheels. :smash: My idea was this:

buy a set of ZO6 style wheels (standard dark silver color, not chrome) in standard C5 sizes. This way, I can have a set of 18's (18x9.5 + 18x10.5) for everyday use and a set of 17's (17x8.5 + 17x9.5) to do whatever with, maybe use them for autoX tires. Also, if I damaged one wheel I would have a geat temporary replacement! :yesnod: :yesnod:

So.. does anybody know where I can get a set of stock color ZO6 style wheels in standard C5 sizes??

Any help what-so-ever would be most appreciated! :D :flag :D

Thanks evr1!

Mongoos

MONGOOS-I'm putting a larger set of wheels on my car and have a set of chrome zo6 wheels that are 18" front and rear (9.5 & 10.5) that I really want have a use for. They are beautiful wheels but I already have in the 550rwhp range and I'm building a stroker to go with my ATI that will probably put another 100rwhp+ so I'm having to go with some serious size (particullarly in back) tires. If you're interested in the set let me know I can probably put you in an entire set with Pilot Sports in place on without the tires at a very good price.

I have 275's on the front of my Z06, with stock wheels. No problems at all.

I can't answer the wheel question, but you might want to check out what affect modifying the F/R wheel/tire sizes will have on active handling. I saw a thread recently that the total circumstance differential between the F to R must me maintained. If you are already planning for that sorry for the unnecessary post :)

Thanks guys.. the size difference is going to be -0.04in in total curcumference. I thought about using 275's on the stock rims but it took the curcumference to +0.28, and though that would benefit the rotational mass of the tires (all-be-it an immesurable bit) I want to keep sizes as close to stock as possible.

And as much as I love the look of chrome, and at the risk of sounding either paranoid or overly picky , how much extra weight does the chrome add to a wheel on average?

I know I know, I'm sounding like an F1 tech inspector :spam after a championship race with all the exactness and weights..
but wise man once say "mind the ounces, and the pounds will take care of themselves" :smash:

Thanks again for the info and help! :flag :seeya

Thanks dude. No, the "extractors" are merely decorational "louvers".
