I just called up Esurance to add my Vette to the policy and they told me they "won't insure a Z06." I was like "Uhh it's a 20 year old classic car worth less than a new Toyota." ... Whatever the ******** don't even have that sexy redheaded cartoon lady in their commercials anymore, screw em! So anyway I need a new insurance company, any suggestions? I'm in NJ but I got kicked off of NJM for letting my policy lapse when I was like 17. I'm about to call up that stupid gecko unless anyone has a better idea?
Is it your daily driver? If not you may want to look into one of the providers that does agreed value insurance or limited use.
I went from 105 dollars per month to 44 dollars a month for the same coverages plus agreed value of like 20k.
Yes and no depending on how the ins co determines that. It's one of two cars in the household but I don't have a commute so I probably won't put any real miles on it. I also don't want to be limited on where/when I can drive it.
I have State Farm on my C5 daily driver and Hagerty on my other two C5s which don't get driven much. I have agreed values on the Hagerty policy.
Even though I've had State Farm car coverage since I was 10 (seriously, they have me down as policy holder since 1977 and I was 10 then), I'm seriously considering dropping them because they raised my rates considerably after I hit a possum with my black 99 C5. Not only did they raise my C5's coverage, they also raised my Ford Expedition's rate and my umbrella policy's rate. Not happy about that.

I've had State Farm for 32 years and the same agent for over 20. I've had one accident in 32 years and 5 tickets in my life. My insurance has never been increased due to that thankfully. I did lose my accident free discount for a while though but to me that is not a "rate" increase.
For good coverages my 1997 C5 was 105 dollars a month. No claims, No Tickets, no nothing. At first I did the I want to be able to drive this car where ever I want when ever I want thing until I realized I didn't use the car for that anyways.
For reference our Zillion dollar 2017 Grand Cherokee SRT Is 90 dollars per month for the same coverages lol and it makes way more power stock for stock.
Needless to say when I phoned up and fired State Farm for just the Corvette they didn't even bat an eyelash which is fine with me.
I have nothing but positive things to say about NCM. I can use the car for work a few days a week and 6k miles a year which I will never get close to. I can still drive the car around just about where ever and have fun with it.
You'll get loads of recommendations for insurance when you ask for suggestions. The only way you can get the best deal is to research all the companies. Some members have Hagerty, some Grundy, some State Farm, and some have used the National Corvette Museum car insurance agents to find them a cheap, good company. I would recommend that you read the reviews on the various web sites because they're not all good... GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide...
If you are not using an independent agent for any of your insurance needs, suggest trying one. Because they represent a variety of carriers, they will market your needs. Currently, I have Kemper Insurance but my 04 is not a daily driver and I am 77. FYI, my policy is less than $500 a year with 100 ded collision and 0 for comprehensive with towing.
I pay 114$ a month with progressive for full insurance on the vette, and liability on a 1990 volvo. For reference I'm only 27 but with a clean driving record.
Years ago I had state farm and my car had 300k on it so I had roadside assistance. It wasnt until I blew the motor and called for a tow, that they informed me they cancelled me a month prior. No letter, email, or anything. Needless to say I'll never use state farm again
NCM are independent insurance AGENTSand they buy insurance for customers like us from numerous actual insurance companies such as American Modern mentioned in another post... Check post #12.
There is no NCM insurance company, only NCM agents...

I would be curious to know how many these Numerous companies are? I only know of American Modern which is who my policy is through.

Me, too. My policy says that NCM Insurance is the "agent", which I assume means that American Modern is actually doing the underwriting, but I could be wrong. I'm not in the insurance business.
