So I'm planning ahead a little bit waiting for tax return and stimulus money, which I already have, and thinking about getting a set of Quick Jacks. Oh btw, I have an '03 C5 vert.
Shopping around online and looking at QJs web site I'm thinking about the 5000EXT set up. Costco has them on sale with 4 of the tall pinch weld blocks and storage hooks for $1,199.00. This is the second lowest price I have found and with the add ons seems to be a decent deal.
QJ web site has 'reconditioned' ones for just over $1,100 but with no extras. This is the low price I have found.
Reading the reviews on the Costco site it seems a lot of people have had problems with shipping and the condition of the boxes when they arrived. Broken boxes,.missing parts and so on. Is Costco selling the reconditioned ones and throwing in the extras just to sweeten the deal and have that low of a price?
On top of the box condition a lot of people complained about the units not working correctly and customer service being pretty crappy to deal with. Now I don't take online reviews as gospel but more with a grain of salt! But after so many with exactly the same complaints it makes me think there is definitely something to it!
So for anyone that has a set, what's your experience with purchasing, shipping, cost, parts missing, usage, and most importantly how safe do you feel working under the car supported with the Quick Jacks?
Moderators, if this doesn't belong in the General section I apologize. I wasn't sure where to have this post. Please move it to the appropriate section, thank you!
I bought mine from Home Depot. $100 more than Costco, but I could pick them up at my local store at my convenience and was able to use my PayPal credit, 6 months same as cash. Came with 2 sets of blocks. The smaller worked great on my Coupe, but had to order the even smaller blocks from QJ as they work perfect on my lowered on stock bolts Z. Worked awesome right out of the box, zero issues.
I know they're sturdy, but having both sides of the car fully blocked with the jacks gives me claustrophobia, thinking about if I had to get out of there quick
I've had the 5000 for 2 years. Had the car up dozens of times. Drivetrain in and out 3x (don't ask ..). Works perfect, very secure. Boxes were banged up but everything inside was fine. I use the standard rubber blocks, lowered c5z.
I'd prefer a 2 post lift but no room. The QJ store under the car, I park on top of them.
Clean simple fast way to get the car up and down. No sideways access is a bit of a hassle, yes.
SAFE. I would not get under it if I thought it was sketchy at all. The mechanical locks are simple and robust.
I was really interested in purchasing a Quick Jack when they came up for sale at Costco. But, after reading all the negative reviews on the Costco website I'm leerily. Not so much about it being unsafe but all the problems people have with them. Hmmmnnnn.....

I’ve had mine for 2 years now and use it nearly every day for what I do on YouTube.
Most people who have problems are either not using it correctly or put it together incorrectly.
Would get the car up, prob higher than quick jack.
I looked at that as well, but it's not really portable, still have to anchor it to concrete.. can unbolt it and roll it around is all. I'd really worry about the concrete anchors staying secure after dozens of cycles as well
Got my 5000 from Home Depot, no problems whatsoever. It just barely slides under my C6 427. I slide my plastic ramps under whichever end I am going to be under, just in case.
Thanks for your reply and for making your videos! Very helpful and informative!
The safe thing that I have read about isn't so much about when the car would be up on the jacks, it's the reviews I have read about the jack lowering at a different rate up to one side going all the way down next to instantly and the other side not moving at all. That is very concerning to me!

Remember there is a lock on both sides that you have to undo for it to be equal
Or it may have not been set up right. You do need to bleed the air out of the system
