Hello I just picked up a 2002 EB Z06 with the stock gray wheels and I am interested in replacing them with chrome replicas. Does anyone have an opinion on getting chrome factory style wheels from OEWheelsLLC.com? Looks like a set is $834.00. Thank you for any advice.
There is or was a set of chrome 04 Z06 wheels, brand new I believe, on the for sale section... or it was on the C5 parts for sale group on facebook. I think the guy wanted 1250 or something like that. I actually think he was in Illinois too...

Thank you. I just spent an hour looking those two places and came up empty.
My '99 had chrome relicas when I bought it. Great look, but the chrome was already peeling. Plus my set had fake rivets -- at least you're avoiding that mess.
The replica wheels are going to both heavier and weaker than the OEM, and the chrome will only have one year of warranty. Old polished OEM sets (no chrome to peel) tend to go for more than $1K, and do so for a reason.

I ran a set of Factory Reproduction chrome Z06 wheels on both my ‘00 and ‘03 for a combined total of about 14 years. Never had a problem with balancing nor with chrome peeling. I always kept the wheels protected with a good coat of wax to help with the finish.
IMO, the key to keeping chrome wheels looking great over a long period of time is keeping them clean - get the brake dust and road dust off the wheels as soon as possible after a drive.
Are reproduction wheels heavier, yes. Will you notice it in just everyday driving, I didn’t.
I did a chrome wheel exchange with West Coast Corvette back when I first bought my 2003 Z.
I didn’t want aftermarket replicas and the exchange was about the same price as the replicas ran.
I've got these 2001 Z06 ALCOAs for sale. Pick up only at the Bremerton Airport.
They only have 5000 miles on them and a PERFECT. No rash at all. Zero!!
I ended up buying some C6 double spoke chromes. 19 and 18. I cant help myself, I am a chrome guy.
I have a set of repop thin spokes on my 2000 Vert. I wanted, and needed, a wider than stock tire, but wanted the thin spokes, stock look. So I went with chrome thinspokes from Bob@House of Wheels. They are 18×10.5. Never any problems, except now that they're 15 years old chrome is finally starting to peel in a couple small places.
