Default C5 cam kit

Im going with the tsp ms3 doing lifters, pushrods trunion upgrade dual springs high press oil pump ati dampener c5r timing chain. Should i get my heads ported and polished with new valves or just buy a new set? Also i was thinking of a precision convertor 3-3200 triple disc. As far as transmission should i buy an rpm upgraded trans or get mine rebuilt? Any input would help alot

How much money do you want to spend?

For less money get the heads you have now off and send them to TSP for a port job and get a TransGo shift kit for the trans.

For more money buy some new heads and call up RPM for a built trans.

If you are doing the work yourself the first option would be $1,200-$1,500 with shipping and everything.
The 2nd option is going to be at least $2,300 for the trans and the heads anywhere from $800 on ebay to how ever many thousands you want to spend.

Exactly. Hard to make recommendations without some idea on a budget. Personally, I would stay away from a high pressure oil pump. A stock pump should be fine, depending on how many miles you have put on it. If you do buy a new oil pump, I'd go with a high volume pump over a high pressure pump, but thats just me.

im going to be doing all engine work myself. Im looking to stay around 5k. My vette only has 38k but im not sure how well the stock trans will hold up to 500hp. My car already has c/a intake long tubes and full exhaust tuned, plus an egr delete
