When you select the reply button, a text box will appear. At the top of that text box are a lot of icons from which you can choose to do a number of things - bold text, insert smilies, etc.
To the right of the smiley face icon is one that looks like the sun over some mountains. That is the one for uploading pics from your device to your post. Click on it and follow the directions. Works great.
I tried both opening a new thread and replying to a current thread and in both cases got the mountain scene Vetteman Jack mentioned, so apparently there is something in your office's security suite blocking it.
I would strenuously object to this restriction with the IT department.
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, so here's a picture. I always add pictures using the "Upload" icon, which is circled in red below. Hope that helps.
