A friend of mine offered me her '03 Vert auto with 68,000 miles for 13K. She has had it for 5 or 6 years, second or third owner and only selling because she is moving south. As you can see it has aftermarket wheels and hood, also has Flowmaster exhaust, it is very clean inside and out. I drove it 3 years ago, while I remember it was fun with the top down I can't say that I remember the exhaust note but guessing it could be loud. It has new brakes and rotors all the way around and 2 new tires on the front, rears would need to be replaced probably this year. She has had it serviced regularly and I trust her about any issues , which she says there are none. And being honest the C5 is not one of my favorite gens but if it is a solid car and a convertible I could certainly have fun with it for a year or so, having sold my 09 a few years ago I miss a toy. Any thoughts on the price, etc, thanks.

The C5 may not be your favorite gen.now, but that may change as your length of time in the seat increases. It is hands down the biggest bang for the buck in a 2 seat V8 sports car. I have.first hand experience with Flowmaster mufflers long term on a C5. I bought them almost 18 years ago. I love them for shorter to maybe a 200 mile drive. Driving my C5 to Florida almost every year, they can get pretty "drony", if there's such a word. I was also told, after I bought them, of course, that the C5 Z06 mufflers make within 5whp of the Flowmasters, and are much quieter. The Flowmasters are nice at the track, because you can pretty much hear them any time you're over 3,500rpm, not necessarily a bad thing. I have an A4. If these were on an M6 with its double overdrive trans, they may not drone at all. I don't know. Anyway, I hope this sheds some light (sound?) on your mufflers......
Thanks for the input. I am going back Sunday when she is home to dive into it a little more.
Grinder11, she tells me it's not loud could that be the convertible body? I was at Carlisle and put Kooks on my '09 because the guy insisted there was no drone, after a mile down the road if I could have gotten back in I would have changed them back to original. Biggest mistake ever with that car.
