Default Z16 Commerative Edition Decals

I realize the Decals on the Z16 Edition are an recognizable part of the Commerative package. Being that I’ve always been on the fence with not really a fan of them. I’ve often thought about removing them as I think it would really clean up the overall look of the car. I have spent time and $$ on Mods to my CE, nothing really performance related, just Wheels,Tires, Shifter, Exhaust, Ect. Now I’m thinking again about removing the Decal package. Any thoughts on should I or not ?

Personally, I wouldn't, simply because new ones aren't available anymore so you'd be stuck.

Personally, I love the decals on the CE cars...it looks great with the color and really makes the car standout. I'd vote to leave them

I went through this thought process back in mid 2019 as a fellow CE Z06 owner. I decided to keep the stripes on the car, while doing the process of paint protection film. In my opinion the stripes make the car. And like mentioned above, the hood stripes are out of production and the aftermarket options are close but not an exact replica to the hood stripe. The roof and trunk lid stripes are available from the aftermarket, but not the hood with the same carbon fiber weave.

I say keep the stripes.

I would leave the decals on. That’s a special one year only package and I think your car looks great as is.

Being a huge Corvette Racing and C5R fan, that package means a lot historically to Corvette and the Corvette Racing legacy!

JMO, but the stripes are part of what makes the Z16 a special Z06. I would leave it as is.

Removing decals from a 17 year old car seems like a bad idea.
Most obvious being that the paint underneath them will probably be a different shade than rest of the paint.
Also, I don't think it would be easy removing decals that old, but have never tried, but may prove difficult,
and once started, you can't go back.

Previous owner of my Z16 had the stripes removed... I'm not sure why. I went one step further and removed the polished wheels in favor of the painted standard Z06 wheels (I really dislike polished or chrome wheels). Might put stripes back on at some point but I know they'll be aftermarket. Not too concerned with collector value since it's my daily driver with over 120K miles on it and going up by 2500 miles per month!
