To answer the original question.
The Z06 is much faster.
The NSX is built alot better
and very fun to drive.A
nice early model NSX can
be had for the about 25-29K.
And the NSX is highly reliable.
You can't say the same for
the Z06 or any other corvette
for that matter.

I had my first race in my 03 Z against a guy in a black NSX. This guy was messing with me hard. It did not take me long to get sucked in and race him. We both hit it and I took off from that thing pretty hard. It was not even a good race AT ALL. But those cars do look good. But they are all show and no go in my opinion......... :U
The NSX is one of the best handling cars ever made. However it doesn't have enough power. The Z06 should eat it alive over 45 mph. A friend had an early no power steering NSX, coil overs corner weighted, big brakes, and riding on 18 inch BBS wheels. He could not get away from my car unless it was very tight. Once speeds went above about 60 mph I could pull on him. The car would have been amazing in an autox, but on a big track like Road Atlanta I could run the same time as him.
If I wanted a fun car to drive with the exotic style I would go with a Lotus. The S4 or a V8 both handle as well as the NSX, but have much more power.
Eric a NSX with a Vortech S trim also ran around Ga. 400. It was quick but a bolt on Z06 should be quicker.

I would take an NSX over the Lotus any day. I really like Lotus', but they are not reliable worth anything. The NSX is almost unbreakable.
An 97+ NSX with a supercharger will run straightlines pretty even with an AVERAGE Z06 driver. A good Z06 driver should take the SC NSX even in stock form (no bolt ons). I have riden in and driven several 96- NSX's, 97+ NSX's, supercharged NSX's, and all types of C5 Vettes. My 99 Hardtop could demolish my best friends NSX, even with after he got gears. The only thing I had done to the 99 HT was a Vortex Rammer.
The one thing about the NSX is that it has mad-crazy curb appeal. Much more than any of my Vettes ever has. Plus it is extremely fun to drive in its own way. When they first came out they were about $64k. If they still cost that much today, it would be a car to consider, but at $88k it is WAY overpriced.
