got a 97 base auto with 48k. got it late aug.of 2020 so don't have a lot of seat time. how do i know if i have the clb installed. no problems so far but i read horror stories and would like to avoid that. thanks btw i install a battery tender on all my hot rods over the winter months.
The CLB will be located under the drivers knee bolster so you'll need to remove that to physically see it. It will be a little black plastic box about 2 inches long. If it's the LMC5 then that's located in the passenger side footwell behind the fusebox cover. That one is I believe is just a wiring thing. I have the CLB so I don't know for sure how the other one looks.
Does your steering wheel lock when you remove the key?
i'll have to try it today. really have not had any problems but also don't have that much seat time. after reading the horror stories i'm bout half scared to touch the column.
i'll check the passenger side footwell first to see if the lmc5 was installed. i'm guessing it's been fixed because it's been good since i took ownership in Aug.2020. just seems like every c5 had this problem. kinda bugs me till i find out for sure.
