Default Radiator shroud necessary?

Installed a new radiator, but now the radiator shroud a has a slight curve to it, are there any negative factors to just removing it?

The shroud focuses cooling outside air through the radiator instead of around it. It is a necessary part of the cooling system. You say the shroud is curved. If that curve is causing it to pull away from where it mounts to the rad., either fix the mounting problem or seal any gaps to prevent excess air leakage.

Shouldn't make much difference until you get stuck in traffic and depend on the fans to keep the motor cool.

You're probably OK.....IF you're running a totally stock engine. IMHO, the Engineers put it there for a reason, so I have left mine in place. If it were me, I'd try to find the cause of the curve. Regardless, you'll never see it with the hood closed. But, if you're like me, YOU know it's there, and it will bug the Hell outta you!! I had a similar problem, and fixed it by using nylon zip ties, instead of the factory fasteners. I allowed the shroud to 'relax' first, in it's natural position, without any fasteners. Then I started zip tying. Hope this helps you out......

Are you referring to the fan shroud? Or the shroud under the air box? The shroud under the air box is used to direct air through the radiator instead of letting it roll over the radiator and into the engine compartment. It will work but probably not well.
