Hello guys and gals, figured it was time to finally make a first post! After literally years of wishing and searching, I picked up my first Vette. An 04 a4 coupe, 85k on the clock. All stock except the double din conversion when I bought it, currently switching to led lighting and doing small details such as backup camera, badges, etc. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge, I have searched and read over many threads. I recently pulled the trigger on a Borla Stinger Quad tip exhaust (classic version, not the type 2)...a little nervous about drone but I believe I will love it. It is arriving tomorrow and I hope to have it put on within a few days. Attached are some photos of the day I bought it about 3 weeks ago, I'll be adding more soon. Looking forward to being a part of the forum!

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your new C5. It looks GREAT! Definitely let us know if you have any questions. We're always happy to help. You're going to love your car. Good call on the lighting upgrades. The stock lights are the only part of this car that just doesn't cut it anymore. I hope you like the exhaust. I probably would have gone with the type 2 since it has no drone. Drone can be a bigger issue with an automatic like yours, since you can't shift to avoid certain RPM ranges where the drone is worst. With luck, you won't have any problems with it though. Thanks for posting and sharing you fantastic car with us. Enjoy the many miles of smiles that it will bring you.

Thanks! I looked hard at the type 2, and the Billy Boat Route 66, but ultimately decided to try these. I have heard mixed reviews on the drone, I will keep the thread updated when I have them put on. I did sound deaden the hatch area a couple of nights ago, maybe that will help. I love the led lighting, (Thanks Vette Lights) the only ones I haven't been able to change out are the HUD and the DIC ones. I had the cluster out halfway and got a good look at the bulbs, just couldn't get to them. I'll have to look more into that, it seems pretty involved! I have upgraded/replaced many clusters in the same era Silverados, they were much easier. I also have the typical Climate Control dim display, and that is on it's way to Vettetronics as of yesterday -) My smile is getting bigger, but my wallet is getting thinner..haha

Welcome aboard the C5 forum!
Looks like you found a nice clean coupe.

You’ll have no problem here finding folks to help you spend money on your car!

But seriously, this is a great place for ideas and help. Hope you like your Borla Stinger exhaust. I would have likely recommended the ATAK. It sounds great and has zero drone.

Corvettes are a lot of fun to drive, modify and make your own. Sounds like you fit right in here.
The Borlas will look and sound great on your C5. The chrome C6 5 spoke repro rims look nice.

Welcome from Georgia.
I've been looking at back-up cameras myself. Which system are you going with?

Right on! Enjoy it and give it some exercise regularly... it's one of the best handling cars I've ever driven! Love the color combo and wheels, beautiful!

Good luck and have fun!

Previous owner had an Alpine double din put in prior to when I bought it, but the parking brake and backup camera were never wired. I priced an Alpine backup cam as an add on, but ended up going with an Amazon cam that looked exactly the same. The pic quality is good, but the camera is loose and I ended up mounting it to the bumper rather than the plate, because it covered my stickers. Looks better this way I think anyway, but the build quality could be better.. cant complain for 20 bux tho. Not bad to wire at all, maybe an hour

Thanks, I hope I do like the stingers. I'm pretty sure I will at idle, I'm used to some drone in some older pickups I have had so I'm anxious to see. You are dead on w/ the C6 replicas, I am looking hard at C6 Grand Sport replicas, in 17/18...I think I would like the 18/19 setup but I'm not sure about wheel speed sensors, spacers, (tire prices lol)...etc. Gunna keep this one a while and reliability is on the top of my list...road trip to the Smoky mountains hopefully soon!
