Default Possible window control fix

So I got this c5 a few weeks ago. It's been a blast.
Definitely not a show car, but loves living high ram.
i was getting an intermittent drivers door control..
Wasn't just window. Was all the functions.
I read all the posts about controller issues etc.
I pulled the door apart. Glad I did. Saw all the previous owners hatchet work. the wire loom to the switch was all kinked and bent into the oem loom.
I separated out the looms. Cleaned an inspected the wire, found a knick in one. Repaired and re wrapped. Switch functions as it should now.
I'll grab pictures when I open it up to replace the speakers.

Your wallet got lucky but it sounds like you had to do a bit of work.

I was in a similar boat 1 grinding half stuck window, one window stuck up, passenger door lock not working, drivers working most of the time... The wiring was fine though. Turned out to be both window regulators ($150 x 2 + $23 pigtail) and the passenger DCM relays ($50 refurb, sent the drivers in too cause it seemed to be on the way out as well).

Good job getting it all sorted out. Plus I'm sure it saved you a ton of cash by doing it yourself.

I honestly have little faith my regulators will last forever. But if I go back in the door I'll know to get more plastic retainer clips. These things are a joke

So here is an update. I thought I had it fixed for sure. I'm out driving this afternoon and nope. No window controls only on drivers window.
if I pull the switch out. So it's loose but not pushed in fully seated. Everything works.
this leads me to believe that when its fully in, the wires are pulled at a slight angle to the plug. Those will have to be what I look into next.

I have the exact problem..I believe it the way the wires kink when the pad is fully seated..probably happened when I took the doors apart to put in the speakers..Once you screw with these things..they sometimes get annoyed. Still playing around with it. I keep a tool to pull it out if it goes dead for now. As soon as I pull it out of the door it works so I'm going to try to route it a little different..but theres not much play in there.

Exactly. And there isn't enough wire to cut back and replace the connector.
if I find a part number for just that section I'll let you know

Worst case would be to carefully rebuild the connector. I think they make a tool to get each connector out.
