Default B&B Exhaust

Hello all,

I wanted to share that I just received and installed a B&B Axle back Exhaust system. I bought the PRT model. When I made the purchase online I was told it would arrive in 3-4 weeks as they build them to order. It ended up taking over 2 plus months to receive and during that 2 plus months they never reached out to share an update that there would be a delay. A few times I reached out to them to ask when it would ship and each time they said within a week but it didn't. Well it finally arrived a few days ago and I just installed it. I would love to blast them as the buying experience was one of the worst I have ever had but holy smokes, this is the very best exhaust sound I have ever heard in my life. The throatiness of the exhaust at low RPM as well as the sound at speed gains is just unreal. The exhaust has truly transformed my C5 to such a beautiful sounded machine.

If anyone is interested in a killer exhaust system and has the time to wait for production I would definitely recommend the end product. Here is their website: https://www.bbexhaust.com/shop/chevy...ust-fcor-0205/

Cheers

Agree about the PRTs! Great, strong sound at start up and acceleration, yet we can carry on a conversation (with no drone) at 75.
Bummer about the delay, though.

A great sounding and looking exhaust system is the most important modification to any car.
Nice choice.

Awesome choice. I also have the PRT's and love them. Sorry you had that delivery issue. I had heard a few days ago they are in the process of moving from Phoenix to North Carolina. Not sure that's a complete fact or not but someone did tell me that. Maybe that had something to do with their manufacturing.

I’ve been running PRT’s on my car for over 21 years. I can’t count the amount of compliments I have received on the looks and sound of the PRT’s.

I bought the Fusion system for my C5 last summer. It did take about 2+ months to get it. I was not surprised. I was just standing outside admiring the weather and the UPS truck pulled up and there it was. The box looked like something that had been through a war, but the pipes inside were wrapped and totally unharmed. I told my buddies that it is a shame to put it under the car. It was simply a masterpiece. The end result is a good sounding, well built, and perfect addition for my car. Can't say anything bad about Billy Boat. I am glad I didn't remove my old exhaust in anticipation of the parts coming quickly. LOL. Ken

Now I'm nervous reading the above delivery comments. April 21st will be 4 weeks out since my order. Patience is a virtue but waiting sucks.

What a coincidence you posted a photo of Speedway tips.
In Jan. I emailed Billy Boat and asked if they could make a set for me with the tips closer together, in proportion to the total bumper exhaust area on the Route 66 set
Initially they said yes, but it’d take a little longer, they were back ordered the company who they buy the speedway tips from was a few weeks out. If they were able to build me a bespoke set that would be ok. 2 weeks later I email them again to touch base if anything changed and place a credit card order and I’m told it’s going to be almost $300 for 2” of pipe over the initial cost. No one said that at all initially

Feb 19 I ordered a PRT exhaust and didn’t get any notice of delivery at all. After multiple emails and phone calls with no response I send a final email requesting some confirmation before before calling Visa for help. I get a build date(not a delivery date) of Apr 20

Love the product not so much the process

I dont mind the gap between the tips because it leaves room for the exhaust plate to be seen. Also it may not be just more pipe but changing their production set up. they don't like doing that.

Good deal that the wait turned out to be worth it. B&B makes a nice exhaust system.

I don’t like how there’s such a big gap in the middle. Never been a exhaust plate fan on any car.

As far as the personalized arrangement order goes, by the correspondence it really didn’t sound like it was that big of a deal

Call me curious, what does a 21+ Yr. old BB exhaust look like now? Could you take a couple close up photos of just the tips? I’d love to see how the polished surface looks compared a new set today
Thanks

Return email after specialized request from Billy Boat Exhaust :
Quote:
“Hary
I can make that change to the system. It would have to be hand built in a different fixture but it can be done. I will not have those tips in stock until mid January but let me know if you want to get it on order.

I would think the sentence in the email that would give away the reason for the up charge is it would have to be hand built.

. I would say that exhaust looks as good today as it did the day I put it on the car. But I will tell you I also maintain the tips like I maintain the whole car

This was taken last summer. The tips are cleaned with never-dull

How do you figure? They’re all hand built. Not that much of a change; 1 1/2” extra pipe but yeah it’s not really the fact it was a higher cost. More the latent mention and the total being not really worth the total exhaust cost

Also, There wasn’t any mention of a charge in the initial email at all. Not that an additional upcharge would’nt be out of the question, just not too business/customer friendly to start a conversation omitting an upcharge. That’s all
Would you not be a little miffed if you went to place an order for a new Corvette, only to find out 2 weeks after there was additional costs not mentioned originally?

Hats off. You take top notch care of that car. It must be difficult (?) to clean the tops next to the bumper. The exhaust suits the car even after years later still look good. Just goes to show you how quality matters

I do like a large single over the quad sets. They give it a clean, simple look. I wish I would’ve kept the Corsa with the single Daytona tips we had but that ship has long sailed.

Thanks for sharing
Enjoy the car
Hary
