It depends on your goals for the car, and what you use it for. If you're just looking for something that looks nice, and is reliable for street driving a set of Power stop Z23 rotors and some refurbished stock calipers that have been painted or powder coated would be a good option. If you're using the car on track, you could consider a big brake kit from Brembo or Wilwood. You might also consider a conversion to C6 Z06 brakes. Both of the later options will require you to have larger rims in order to fit the larger brakes.

Thanks for the info
I'm just street driving. Nothing special just don't want to over pay

I went with the Powerstop Z23 or Z26, can't remember. Shop around as the price varies. I think Rockauto was the most reasonable.

Baer Eradispeeds with Hawk HPS pads. Good, long lasting street set up.

I’ve been running the Powerstop Z23 carbon ceramic pads rotor kit on my 03Z for a couple of years or < 2000 miles.
They are quiet and stop just as good if not better than the OEM pads and rotors, but with very minimal dust.

I am in the process of obtaining parts to upgrade to C6 Z51 brakes (J55 option code).
I bought the brackets recently from a forum member here. I ordered the C6 Z51 rotors and carbon ceramic pads today, so I will be making the change in the next few weeks. This time I going with the Z26 extreme performance pads and rotors kit. They are recommended for cars with upgraded HP and larger wheels.

If anyone is interested in the Z23 pads and rotors I’m going to be taking off, I’ll make you a good deal on them. They are practically still new and just broken in. I followed the bedding process exactly as prescribed.

I believe there is a difference in the C5Z06 calipers/brackets and Coupe/Vert, but I will also have my C5Z brackets available when I make the swap.

Here is a pic of my current Z23 rotors.

I had them on my ‘00 - excellent combination. They are more expensive than some other options though.

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer.
