. Hey, it happens, perhaps some kind of digital controls would be useful.
just trying to add something of possible interest, sorry if the quality didn't measure up, but don't let it get you down. I frequently have the exact same complaint, and more often than I would care to admit.
At least it wasn't a response saying , hey it's you decision, when opinions are asked for. We already know who is making the decision, that is not the point of a conversation seeking others opinions. But it keeps happening, in almost every post seeking insight from others about buying decisions primarily dealing with cosmetic implications
Yeah... I bet those kinda unkind responses throats helpful info to boot. Our lose.
For fresh air I say go vert. Almost 10 years of ownership I must say the stock top are well made and have held up nicely especially after many years of 145 mph driving
I have the convertible and do not regret it. Nothing beats driving around in the summer with the top down. I live in the PNW so the top is up most of the time, and my observations of top-up C5 vert driving follow:
Very little road and wind noise compared to other soft tops I've driven
Watertight in the rain
Visibility is okay
Doesn't squeak or rattle
And this is with a 120k mile example. The only thing I feel like I'm missing out on is worry-free outdoor parking. It would be a lot easier to have a hard top and leave it outside.
Also, I'm willing to bet we convertible owners get more waves and thumbs up than the coupes. Just sayin...
Most drive their car only when it’s dry and sunny, so why not a vert? Coupes are quieter and they’re allowed on tracks. I once took my vert to a track day and was declined because it didn’t have a roll bar.

I hear you about the roll bar. I have been black flagged at the dragstrip. Back in 2004 the NHRA rules stated 'any convertible running quicker than 13.99 must have a roll bar'. My car was running 12s. Man, that dude took his black flag, waved it once or twice, then pointed it at me, and hollered 'you're done running, stay and watch, or leave'!

With the top up, the verts are actually quieter, top down is a different story....I have owned both versions
