Default Help identify seat frame part

Replacing foam and skins on both seats. On the passenger seat frame is this shiny bracket on the lower back fram crossmember. Nothing similar on the drivers side. Looks by it's shape and two hoops to be some type of attachment/anchor bracket. It was hidden by the original seat cover, so not actually useable. Any thoughts on use? It has eight rivets holding it on. Thought is to drill out rivets and remove rather than have interference with the new cover.

That is supposed to be the child seat anchor bracket. It was only on the 04 C5s.

Thanks Gary. Interesting that it was buried under the seat cover and not accessible. Also my Z06 is a 2003. Mid year build!! Goofy.

If you look at the original seat covers, you will see slits in the seat bottom that allows access to them. The seat back will have a grey dot just above the slits.

There should be a metal tab about 12" behind the passenger seat in the trunk area. That is the 3rd tether point for a child seat. In case you've seen it and wondered.

For the record, this seat frame actually has value to people like me who might want to transport a baby/toddler in their C5. In fact I bought a seat frame just like yours for my '01Z with the anticipation of my daughter being a passenger in it... She's almost 15 months and it still hasn't happened yet, though
