Finally got my carbon front fenders on and I really need to get some "splash" protection on. I'm more concerned about flinging debris at the front of the rear fender well than anything. With them being fiberglass/carbon, I can just imagine chips and/or cracks in the actual fender sooner than later.
I'm not a huge fan of the full splash guards/mud flap look, so I was envisioning something more along the lines of a thicker PPF that I could just apply to the part of the fender that takes all of the debris. Maybe even something like a black or clear 2-3mm thick layer of "sheet silicon" that I could trim to the contours and cutouts or something to that effect? I'm open to some decent looking, affordable splash guards though if anyone has suggestions. I just don't want too many "fender accessories" going on with ZR1 side skirts PLUS front and rear splash guards.
The obligatory not-100%-sold-on-the-new-wheels-quite-yet pic:
I have yet to find a splash guard for the C5 that I like. The OEM C6 guards are perfect (for the C6)...they look so integrated with the car. All the C5 stuff just looks like an afterthought.

I agree 100%. That's why I'm more inclined to find some extraordinarily thick paint protection film before anything. I'm really looking to protect the surface that gets direct spray from the tire, not necessarily the side of the fender.
That's actually pretty cool! I also found some stuff called "Road Warrior" that's roll-on and 2 coats gets you to 10 mil thickness. For $30, I might give it a try and try to do up to 4 layers. Supposed to be temporary for road trips/track use, but people have it on for months at a time.
