On a whim I jumped out and bought a 98 C5 Corvette. I’m totally surprised with the quality and real grit from this car. What a fun sports car. I wish I’d done the earlier.
Congrats on your new car, and welcome to the forum! As you are finding out, these are really great cars. We are always here to help if you have any questions (or just want to share some cool stories). We also love looking at pictures of Corvettes, so post up some pics of yours. I hope your new Vette brings you many miles of smiles. .
Don't forget to SAVE THE WAVE!!!!
Welcome to the CF and congrats on your new C5! They are amazing cars and there is tons of great info in the stickies at the top of the page. Some real knowledgable posters in our section also. Post up some pics when you can!
I can personally attest to the damage old fluids can cause. Due to clutch hydraulic failure had to replace the clutch master. Clutch and brake masters must be maintained with clear fluid. I also just replaced my brake master because repeated flushes were not finishing the job. Now with the new master it's clear as water. (I bought my coupe 2 months ago with 26k on the clock, so it seems that age, not miles, is the predominant factor).
Ps... Two recommended fluids for trans and differential are Red Line and Amsoil. Red Line diff oil contains posi conditioner, so no need to add that separately.
