Default Need buying advice

Hi. I live in Norway and want to buy a C5. I need a manual and have 1 coupe 97mod with 47.000km (215.000nok) , one FRC 99mod 250.000nok) with 116.000km and a Coupe with a D1 compressor, BC coilovers, rims and so on (280.000nok).
I know FRC has a stiffer chassy. Me not having a garage FRC might have less leaks?

I will upgrade and tune any car if its not already done....Wold you buy the coupe and have more cash to spend or the frc with higher milage or the "finished" car witch is a auto and coupe? I cant make up my mind. Compressor is a dream of mine to install but they are not free...Is there often used SC for a good price for sale? What wold you do? Low mile Coupe for less money?

Do you have pictures of each? What do you lean for? What do you want it for?
just high power track racer, cruiser for the Norwegian twisty roads?
I would take the one with the less mod and the less km....then you can do your thing....in my humble opinion.
Did you drive test them?
did you check in sweden, there a a few on sale nowadays...on the 200ksek mark. Depends where you are in Norway, it can be interesting.
did not check the mileage or anything since I am not interested to buy.

Honestly both cars are fairly low miles for the year so I would look at both and go with the one in better condition. I remember looking at C5s a few years ago and some with extremely low miles the owners literally let them sit and rot away so Just remember lower miles doesn’t always translate into a better car.

as far as FRC vs Coupe I’m sure others feel differently but for me they drove just about the same and looks wasn’t enough to sway me one way or another so again I would go for the car that’s in overall better shape.

Low mileage coupe.... if it is the less modified.. has always been the "safer" bet It seems.. well, over here in California that is 😊.... although much depends on the quality of the mods, workmanship and of course mileage.... The largest concern would be "wrenching" support you are gonna need and fix-it knowledge. Line that kinda stuff up for yourself before you leap!

I say skip that supercharger, go with the Coupe, or FRC. Which one you like better.

And post some pics!

Thanks for all your feedback. Today i was offered a 2001 Z06. 98.000km car. The guy just registered it this year as 20yr old cars has no taxes anymore here in Norway. Then he hit a stone laying on the road and had to do a little work to it. Everything seem to be done right. All components new including fenders and front...I did see pic of the damage and it was minor but still...So now i can buy a low mile Z06 with a clean carfax that needs paint for a price that will end me on the comfortable side of things... I know the 01mod had some issues with the valve springs, but it seem to be a simple enough fix. I wanted to buy wide fenders so the fact it needs paint and the price is good seem to be a perfect senario....

But where to buy wide body kit that fits well? Also where wold you recoment to buy all engine and performance parts online? I just assume its cheaper to buy in US and online... I wold love to build a C5R/LeMans replica look C5 similar to this:

I have for now not hte greatest pictures and until before i got the offer on a Z06 i was leaning towards the cope with 47.000km...
I want to cruice but also use it on tracdays. We hare getting a nice track here localy this summer so i wold love to test it on track as well. I might sound like a newb but im not realy.... Well to corvettes im fairly new..Owned a C5 97 coupe but i was living in Filippines at the time...Dident realy get to play with it to mutch...Only one race against a GTR R33 in stock trim...Lost him at 250kmh :-)...also lost my breaks at the same time...Good i still had road ahead to slow down using the auto gear.... Scary!

I have not looked to mutch in Sweden...Cant fint a propper search engine for cars there..Blocket.se i tried but dident find many? My favorit C5 was Bjørk`s Rocket Bunny widebody Coupe :-). His new C4 is sick! Looked in Germany but they are expensive there...

What wold you have to pay for a Z06 under 100.000km in Sweden in good condition? Do they still have the ABS module problem where you cant get a new or fix the old? Or do Z06 have diffrent module?

If you're happy with the Z06, I would go for it. Since you asked about superchargers, I have the kit from A&A corvette. I'm very happy with it (making 500 RWHP). The kit from A&A and the kit from ECS are the two best for the C5. You can occasionally find used kits in the for sale section on this forum. A new A&A kit will cost you around $5k plus shipping to Norway. Then of course, there is the cost of install and tune. Not cheap. You'll also want to look into upgrading your transmission, suspension, brakes, and tires in order to handle the extra power. Good luck with your search.
