Getting ready to take a trip in C5. Need a car mask, can't decide if I need vinyl or one that stretches. Doesn't seem like the stretch material would give me much protection, but would probably fit better. Anyone have some suggestions. Also, best place to purchase. Thanks

A lot of pluses and minuses to one of those masks. If it rains I removed it. If left on wet can cloud the paint. If not tight enough it will rub and mar the paint. The leather one I had did protect against nicks and chips. I used
mine on the way out on the trip but not on the way back, with no problem. The second trip to the beach I didn’t use. No problems. I guess I was lucky.
I use a stretch one for local cruises and my leather one if I'm heading out of town for any length of time or mileage. The stretch one won't stop rocks or anything with a little weight to it.

I use the stretch ones on my C5s on the way to car shows. Like Mark said, doesn't probably do much for preventing rock chips but it does keep the bugs off the paint. It also goes on and off the car in a minute.

I ran a GM bra for many years on my C5s and it worked great in keeping the rock chips off the car. Don’t think you will find them new anymore, but they do show up in the used parts section.
