Considering moving up to a C7 and wondering what my Z06 would be worth. It's an '02 with 23K miles on it, black with mod red interior in almost flawless condition. Tastefully modded with a Magnuson supercharger, Calloway exhaust, and custom double din stereo system. It appears that C5's may be selling for a little more than in recent years. What are you all's thoughts?
Without seeing the car it's hard to place an exact value. Prices have definitely gone up this year so I'd ask around $25,000 The low mileage and the fact it's a Z06 helps the price. Is it a one owner car? Do you have paperwork showing all the maintenance done on car? These also add value.
Yes, I have original sticker and most of the receipts for work done. It's been a garage queen the whole time I have had it and for the owner before me. I also removed the stock Z06 rims when I bought it and put new wheels and tires on it, keeping the stock Z06 rims for future buyer. Do you think a car of this ilk can actually bring $25K or you ask that and sell for 23 or 24K?
Not everyone wants an original unmodified car.... I know - shocker to some folks here!
I think the only thing from what you've posted that will limit your pool of buyers is the mod red. Some people hate it. I think your $24-25k asking price would be reasonable in the current market. In fact, there's a guy in another thread here looking for a car just like yours. Might want to link up.

Exactly! It is kind of a sellers market out there as used car prices have risen since the Covid virus hit. Post it for $25K. The worst thing that can happen is it doesn't sell right away.
Could you please tell us exactly where one can find a low mileage car like that for that kind of numbers??
When people are buying they see low prices everywhere but they have no idea what they are looking at except a price in an ad. When they are selling they think they have gold. I know someone that just sold a pretty good 2001 heads and cam 45k Z06 for $22500 pretty quickly. He had it originally listed for 25k because he really did not want to really sell it and there was very little interest at that price. Came down to 22500 and sold immediately.
Good time to sell, but you will be paying a premium for a C7. C7 prices are pretty much at an all time high. A couple of my buddies sold their C7 for 4-5k more than they paid for the car several years ago.
I bet you could easily get over $25k for that car in this market. I would list it at $28,500 or so. Sounds like you are similar to this one currently for sale. 2004 with Maggie
Do some analysis with the easily available tools such as Edmunds, KBB, fast online quotes from Carvana and CarGurus (in my experience, they'll lowball you so add 40%+ or so but at least you have a "dealer" estimate...), CorvetteDNA, etc. and figure out your ask and what you can live with. Arbitrarily posting at some high price suggests that buyers also won't do the work you didn't do (Research!). We (buyers) will.
And as noted above, be honest and accurate with descriptions. No 20+-year-old car is flawless. Plastic gets brittle, paint gets chipped, interiors lose integrity too. GLWS; sounds like you have something to offer.

You're correct in stating not everyone wants original and unmodified. No shocker there, but the money cars will likely be original and unmodified. There are no tasteful mods when it comes to originality.

To a broader audience, yes. To someone already looking to do this work, no.
Shocker - there's more than one way to enjoy a car.

Some of you guys crack me up.
When I was your age I was probably much closer to your line of thought. In fact, I drove that '67 roadster through several Wyoming winters. Rain or snow as long as it started up. My current car will never ever see rain. It sits alone seldom driven. Yea, I had way more fun at thirty.

You have a worthy perspective, in this case, however this is not the way all are. I almost jumped on a corvette when checking out Autotrader last month, and it was modified. I value mods that move forward the cars performance.
