OEM size Z06 Wheels

Greetings ...

I did a quick search and found bumpkiss (probably my shortcoming)

I'm considering replacing the wheels on my '01 Z06. The chrome plating is peeling on these and there are some pits. Looking to replace the 6 y/o tires this year, too, so I was thinking of the set/combo. Of course, the 01 OEM is 17 front/18 rear. I found this wheel set on corvette mods. The price seems too good to be true ... double entendre true round ...

I like the chrome. Evidently it WAS an option on at least one year model as I saw a Z similar to mine at a car show in Boerne last month. Fella had the sticker with the original wheels ... they were shiny.

This one is a driver ... so NRCS need not apply ... but I do seek to keep it OEM looking. Are these a good purchase? round and rigid (won't bend at the first bump)?

Chrome wheels were not an option on C5 Z06's, only polished, and that was 2004, only. Some GM dealers would send the wheels out to be chromed as an option but that's obviously not the same thing.

Corvette Mods are one of the biggest crooks out there.

Get your current wheels refinished. Will be much cheaper.

Place in Dallas does powdercoat for $100 per. I think its $125 to demount and remount tires.

i thought about asking Pulido in Balch Springs if they would. They did great work on my 61 Impala molding restore.

There are plenty of vendors out there that sell chrome reproduction Z06 wheels. Pays to shop around.

ARS in Dallas is who most of the guys in my group have used. Their work is good. I dont know that I would claim it to be show finish because they are a production type shop, but they do really good work for a very fair price.

NOW, if you want a re-chrome, I dont think they would be the place to go to, but for powdercoat and wheel repair, they do good work.
