This thing is really ingenious.. it's TINY and super light.. the screen is the same size as my old DD, but the depth is insanely shallow... the unit is $300. You can also buy an 450watt (50 watts rms per channel) amp that literally attaches to the back of the unit.. so, no wires to run . I added added the amp as well, and it sounds fantastic.
The Headunit has android auto and apple car play...no CD though, which doesn't bother me at all. You get standard nav apps, like google maps/wayz.
here's a size match up, old vs. new:
you can use the stock speakers with a pac converter, or replace them (which I recommend)-- I went with 8"subs/la frog mids in the door, mids in the back, and a sub in the cargo area
The double din console is from VetteNuts. The stereo head is Pioneer, but I'll have to get back to you with the exact info if you want more. It isn't connected to the CD player in the rear, but does have a USB connection in the center console.
Started the ugly and got dash off .Not to bad a job .Doing ac/heat actuators also at same time .I thinking it is more work getting rid of the shitty old wiring for radio.Previous owner put in a radio way back .What a snake pit .
Going with the Alpine ILX 650 with 445 Alpine amp .Pics to come .

I went w/ the Joying, if you haven't looked into it, it's a good way to keep your stock bezel and get a full modern headunit that actually (sorta) fits the 1 1/2 din stock cutaway.
Alpine ilx-f309 halo9, not for everyone but I really like the floating screen look. Plus it has all the features I wanted, Android Auto, GPS, Sirius/XM, Bluetooth phone connectivity and no new dash bezel needed for the installation. Took me a day and a half to get it installed but love it.
So the peeps here that did the double din bezel from Metra or how ever it's spelled ,How did you deal with difference with the ashtray . .I don't smoke but on new bezel there is no small door to close .Same with cup holder .
I like the metra bezel. Got it painted for contrast and it’s a huge difference from all black everywhere. I have the Alpine W650.

Agreed. Alpine w650 is excellent. The shallowness helps make the install easy. I do
wish it had a big volume button for when I need it to quickly mute.
Is there a hack or any way to get a corvette logo jpg on the Home Screen?

Just finished up installing rear view camera .
Would like to know also if you can change start up screen to a Corvette logo .
Also need to get a sub .I ran all wires when I did hook up but just got to decide which one and which one looks the best 👌
The ashtray and cup holder door and center door are not in the Metra bezel but I don’t miss them. Only difference is you can’t use a Corvette clip since there’s no cup holder door to hold it on. But I use a Clear Option cup holder anyway.

I don't believe so.. fit doesn't have some of the customization options as the pioneers, but the trade off to me is worth it.
The Vette Nuts Console looks just like the original.
And you need to access the power supply Chevrolet put in the passenger footwell. The computer shuts off the power wire when you take the radio out.
Already been covered in early post read whole thing before you drop comments. You also for g ot to add the Vette nuts console is almost $350 .The other brand is Less than $200.
And the Vette nuts one has been out of stock all year.
