I got some new housings for the corner light but also want to update the light bulbs to LED or wtv is best but not sure which to buy as there are many options. What do y’all recommend or what do y’all have on yalls? Post pics if you can thanks
Got my switchbacks from EBay a few years back and they seem to be holding up well. The DRL color for mine is white, then they flip to amber when the turn signals are enabled. You may also need a Hyperflash harness if you already don't have one installed. I got mine from Amazon.
I got the complete DRL upgrade kit from Sharp Light Innovations. I LOVE it! The housings are very similar to the ones I got as part of the kit. I'm sure that George can hook you up with whatever you need. Here are some pics. EDIT: I also have the LED strip option at the bottom of the housing.

wow those clear ones look amazing with the color, making me regret buying the ones I bought lol
I got the fog light LEDs from Sharp Light Innovations, and they were a good improvement -- until they "iced over" in my unfortunate run-in with that Arctic snow-front back in mid-April. I didn't want to run my headlights, but I definitely needed more than the stock DRLs. After watching the DriveHub video on these lights, I get the impression that they would have given me PLENTY of see-me-coming light, and they look fine as frog-hair! (Wish I'd taken a closer look at yours, at Alexandria Cars & Coffee.)

Friendly word of advice ... and apologies if this is common sense, but, pay attention to color temperature. You'll probably want to match your other clear/white bulbs, including your headlights - either as you buy the LED's or as you plan to swap your bulbs.
This will help you avoid being that guy with yellow foglight and bright blue headlights, in example =)
My LED/HID exrterior lighting conversion was on of the best mods I've ever done for my C5. Going on 10 years now and they still look and perform great. The OEM halogen corner bulbs were especially bad as they literally melted the stock corner housings over time. I went with Switchbacks for my LED corners. Went with the DOT compliant amber reflectors on the aftermarket front corner housings.
Question for you people running LED DRLs...are the amber signals bright enough to be seen on a sunny day? I noticed all the photos I see online or videos on YT are in a garage, overcast, or at night. I've read complaints of the amber LED turn signal bulbs not being bright enough on other cars. If someone can post a photo when it's sunny out, I'd like to see!
I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread yet, but also don't forget you will need to install a hyperflash harness with your LED bulbs.
I don’t have LED yet and the stock ones hyper flash lol been going on for 4 months now and I didn’t mind it solely because in texas no ones knows how to drive so my hyper flash gets their attention (but yes I’ll get the harness for these new ones lol)
The answer is that the halogen bulbs (any halogen bulb) will eventually melt through your housings, leading to water incursion that hits hot bulb and shatters bulb.
Even shitty LED bulbs (and you may have to work hard to find shitty ones) are better in your nice new housings.
Amber/White switchbacks from a reputable source are a "do it and forget about it" mod...

I can't remember where I was reading it on the forum, but supposedly GM started putting a metal shield/hood above the incandescent DRL bulb in the later C5s? I wonder if most people's woes are from putting aftermarket different wattage incandescents from a parts store. I'm still going to go with LEDs just because changing bulbs in the signal housings are a PITA. I would like to get some pics of how bright they look on a sunny day as there are varying 'brands' of LED bulbs some being even dimmer than incandescents bulbs! When you drive a grey car, it's all about being 'seen' since i blend in with the road.

This is news to me. I have not seen this on any year C5 I've worked on or any OEM replacement part.

I have an '04, and I can tell you that there was no metal shielding in my DRLS. The stock bulbs had burned there way through the top of the stock housing.
My DRLS from Sharp light innovations are WAY brighter and easier to see than stock regardless of lighting conditions. I'll try to get you a picture after work of the turn signal on in the sunlight.
Please excuse the fact that my car is horribly dirty. Here is a picture taken in VERY bright direct sunlight as requested. This picture doesn't really do it justice.
