Looking for some suggestions. My drivers side head light seems to bounce quite a bit when I am driving at night. There is some travel 1/4" when I grab it with my hand. How can I tighten this up? Is it missing a spring or something?
Thanks
Take the headlight bezel off and then the coverl. You'll need a Phillips head and a T15 TORX bit. Bezel comes out first, if I recall - there's a guide at the top so pull the top of the bezel out towards you and then tilt it downwards. Angle the bottom of the bezel so it comes out. No force needed - will take less than a minute once you see how it sits in there. Then use the T15 for the cover - open your hood so it's easy to lift it up and off - don't use force, just wiggle if need be. (This is also the easiest way to access signal bulbs without a lift, as well.)
You said you can induce travel with your hand - now you should be able to see where and why.
You need to check that the isolators (sometimes called bump stops) on the head light are still present. There are four total for each head light, two are on the pivot arm down low, and two are immediately on the "top" of the head light body door between it and the hood.
If one or more than one is missing it will cause the headlight to bounce around.
