Just purchased 03 c5 wondering what later model.wheels will fit without spacers was looking at the c7 Z06 rims that are repros made to fit C5 I would like a bigger rim than 17" which is the size they are offered in thanks for the help
If you're looking at C7 Z06 reproduction wheels spec'ed to fit a C5 they're going to fit a C5 as-is.
A good deal of late model Corvette OEM wheels are going to need some sort of adapter to "fit" properly. In the rear C6 & C7s suspension geometry is slightly different than C5's, which typically means their wheels on a C5 sit in too deep (ex: base C6 wheels) or they stick out directly to or across the top quarter line (ex: Z06 and GS wheels), which isn't very good fitment. No C8 wheels will fit C5s as-is as the bolt pattern changed to 5x120 with an increase of a little over 2mm on the studs over the C7 and prior cars.
So for proper fitment of C6 427/Z06 on a C5 does anyone know what spacing is required, or where I can get the info? Thanks again
With oem C6 Z06 wheels, there is no such thing as proper fitment, as the front offset and rear width are all wrong for a narrowbody C5. Yes, they will bolt on but will poke, on both ends.
Adding spacers will only make the problem worse.
Oem C6Z wheels and repro C6Z wheels are not the same specs as the latter wheels are usually narrower and feature the correct offsets, to fit a C5.
