Default x pipe

I have an American Racing x pipe with high flow cats that have been gutted out so the cats are still apart of the x pipe.I ordered a new x pipe from American racing with new cats so my question is........is the x pipe worth anything with the cats gutted out? Would anyone be interested in it? It was done right, all the cat material was removed. Pipe still looks new.I'm just not crazy about the smell it leaves in my garage because its air conditioned.

It would certainly be worth a LOT more if the cats had not been gutted. This would not work at all for anyone who has to pass a sniffer type smog inspection. However, you have effectively turned it into a catless x-pipe with resonators that look like cats, and would pass a visual inspection. These might be of value to someone wanting a catless setup. I personally wouldn't have any interest in this. However, I'm sure there are plenty on the forum who would. I'd post it in the for sale section for around $150.00 - $200.00.

Actually, they would definitely work for those that require a sniff test as long as they have the O2's tuned out. Also if the state requires the visual inspection. I've passed the NJ sniff test with an off road x-pipe (catless). The challenge is the visual inspection for those with the tune but the visual is required. I bet these will sell pretty quickly for $350+ to someone with FI or a heads cam setup, that have a tune to pass the sniff, want to go catless, but live where the visual is also part of the inspection process.
