Default TPMS sensors

Looking for the best place to pick up some TPMS sensors for my sons 1999 FRC. Been looking on eBay and Amazon but they’re like almost $100 each! There are cheaper ones but they look like cheap Chinese pieces of sh*t.

Unfortunately, the older TPMS are a bit more expensive than the newer ones. Since you aren't interested in "cheap" ones, here's a link to some good quality ones from Eckler's. http://www.ecklerscorvette.com/1997-...SABEgIjRvD_BwE

I put these in my 99. Very easy to program and 5000 miles later, they still work perfectly.

Sadly the sensors for your car are the expensive ones. Those sensors from Amazon are priced very well and if they work, they would be a good deal.

I agree with Vetteman Jack. The price for the Amazon ones are very good. Actually not to far off for the Schrader TPMS sensors for the 2001 - 2004. Schrader makes the TPMS sensors for AC Delco. The Schrader TPMS sensors are OEM.

I just added them to my Z06. Got them from Rock Auto (https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/sc...)+sensor,12036) for $20.79/ea. I see they went up in price to $24.79/ea since I got them a few weeks ago but that's still a great deal compared to the OEM sensors.

Here's the part numbers for them ... Schrader Model 20117 or OE/ACDELCO# 25773946. I think Schrader actually makes the OEM sensors so you'll save by going that route.

Oops, just realized that the sensors for the 1997-2000 C5s are different then those used for 2001-2004 so the link to the one above might not apply for your son's 1999 FPC.

Here's the correct Schrader TPMS from Rock Auto for the '99 FPC. Looks like it's the same price ($24.79/ea) ... https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/sc...)+sensor,12036

Here's another link for the same Schrader TPMS but at twice the price ... https://www.tpms.com/Schrader-28006-p/s8006.htm

You have a 2001 - 2004 Z06. The OP cannot use the TPMS sensors for your model year. He has a model year 1999 which uses a different TPMS sensor (old style) which cost more.

I just updated my post with the correct information for his '99 FPC.

So has anyone actually used the Schrader ones from Rock Auto that are $25 each... programmed like they should, and so far what kind of life out of them?

Thanks

Yes. They are fine. Schrader makes TPMS for many OEMs - Subaru for one. We sell them at the dealer for $97 a piece and they are 100% the same thing as the ones you can get from RockAuto.

Default Go with TPMS 24/7

I found outrageously high prices at the dealer and online until I found TPMS247.com by accident. I bought their TPMS sensors for my 1998 vert about 3 years ago and they have worked perfectly. They were $25 each. Great people, too.

I recently bought the Schader TPMS sensors from Rock Auto ($20.79/ea) and installed them on my ‘02 Z06 (see my post above). They’ve been working great so far. Really glad I installed them. If you have a Z06 and would like to add them, I did a write up in the C5 Tech section.

Link: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...to-c5-z06.html

Pretty straightforward to do. All you need is access to a TECH2 device.

Btw, Schader makes the OEM TPMS sensors for GM so they’re a great and reliable product.
