Default Engine oil dip stick

Engine oil dipstick broke up by the little rubber seal. I can no find one for a 2000 5.7 but amazon has some for a 2001 would that be the same? They list several foe a 2001 but none for a 2000.

You can also check with either Vettenuts or aescorvetteparts, both of which are forum used parts vendors.

I believe if you swap both the stick and the tube you can use the newer version. The difference is where it bolted on. But like others said the used vendors stock them

The only one I found they wanted 175.00 for it. It was the tube and the dip stick. I ordered one for a 2001 hoping it would work but checked with an owner of a 2001 and the 2001 was a lot longer. I went to a pull and pay and pulled about the dip stick out of about 40 cars and discovered that one out of a Caddy worked just fine. It was about a inch shorter but it was actually easier to read the oil level and cost 3.00.

Escalade with 4.8 5.3 or 6.0 or 6.2 engine?

Or another type of Cadillac.

I know it was not an Escalade but did not pay attention to what I was pulling the dip sticks out off. There were several more dip sticks the same but only bought one. Did not know what they were going to charge but will probably going back out there to pick up a couple more at that price. The breaking of the dip sticks must be a common problem so if I pick up a couple more of them I will update the post in case someone needs one, will sell them at a LOT less than 170.00.
