This is my personal corvette very important to me because this was my first car when I was 16 and been working so hard over the years. Now owner of my automotive shop got the money to do my dream build.wanted to share my build with corvette lovers.
As we all know the Aztec gold corvettes are extremely rare. And always wished that GM made a zo6 model in that color. So I will be making just that. Corvette zo6 Aztec gold along with some tasteful mods to complement the gold color. The infamous Aztec gold which is supposed to be very hard to paint 😬 wish me luck The before with rk sports cowl hood All panels removed ready for body work
In a cloud of gold Next day after the dust clear. The euro clear looking real wet Just wanted to see a quick peek how it would look done. Still need to spray out the bottom around the exhaust matte metallic black Today started the wet sand and buff will be able to shave off the wet reflection.

I have seen a couple of the factory painted Aztec Gold C5s - I too liked the color and it was too bad that GM could not get the panels to match. Good luck with your paint job - hope it comes out perfect and you'll post up some pics.

I seen only one at corvettes of Houston back when I was going to Uti back in 2014 for 35k. Thanks! will post some pictures as I complete the build.
Looking forward to seeing it. Good luck! I know GM stopped making them because they had such a huge problem with color matching. I really hope that you are able to get everything matched up well. This will be very cool if it comes out right.
Thanks for all the support! Gold lovers got all the body work done. Will spray the primer today then 1 step closer to laying down that gold.
Removed all rock chips and cracks in the paint ready for primer You know your car is low when you get Rock chips on the roof. Over all very little body work for a car with 120k+ on it was daily driver for 6 years
Definitely in for this Are you going wide body in the rear?
Unfortunately not for 2 main reasons the company that makes Zr1 style quarters went out of business. The only company I find have a sharp edge vs the smooth curves of a c5. Second is because would like to run the Oem gold magnesium wheels for the ultimate rare setup. Few houses down seen a c5 with the gold mag rims. Will try to buy them
Company that went out smooth transition Ones I can find for sale Bit to sharp of a transaction for my liking
All rock chips removed Aftermarket Hood ready for sand and paint Rock chips removed from roof lol low car problems All lights are going to be converted to crazy bright leds. New headlight housing with wire harness that allows high and low beams to be on when in high. Day time switch back for turn signals to change white to orange when changing lane. Added fog lights as well to zo6. Need to smoke out the rear halo tail lights, reverse lights, and door panel reflectors. Fog lights on the zo6 Oem c5 fog lights and wire harness led bulbs swapped for all white front leds in the front. Halos need to blackout and bright led white reverse hopefully will be enough for the smoked reverse light housing.
