I haven't used the goop, but the pump works if you have slow leak (nail) and need to get a few miles to get it patched. But you're right - anything major, you better have a cell phone....

I think anything major on runflats would cause you the same problem. What I have decided to do was get a plug kit from Autozone for less than 10.00 bucks. We had a group out driving one day and one of the coupes(runflats) got a DIC message that he was loosing pressure. We checked and sure enough, there was a very small hole. Instead of driving on the sidewall, a couple of our forum members teamed up and was able to plug that puppy and he could drive home with a little more confidence. I was sold on the plug kit.

Nope - I know of a couple of people who have taken major sidewall damage with the runflats & managed to drive 50+ miles on back roads with a hole that no plug kit or patch would ever repair. We're talking 1/2" gashes here, zero air pressure, and the runflats will get you home, or at least to the nearest tire store.
I think the point of the original post was that with that sort of damage to a Z06 tire, the pump and goop is pretty much worthless - the tire's probably off the rim and shredded at that point anyway. :seeya
:cuss Found a nail in my rear tire today. Noticed it was low when I returned to the lot from shopping. Used the little compressor and drove it home. no problem. Gotta plug it again. This is the second time. :nonod: Haven't parked in the same same lot since I got the last one. Never got a nail in anything else I have owned. WTF? :skep: Corvette tires are nail magnets. :mad
