Default Maximum size wheels oem C5

A while ago i ordered some wheels that you all said would be too big. So i canceled the order today and talked to the shop about getting some proper fitting wheels. I want the wheels for going on a track days now and then, Im thinking 18 front and 19 in the back. But what would be in your experience the widest rim and tire for oem C5? I do have some Corvette creation ZR style wide fenders on the way so i will buy rims to fit those, but the dealer wanted OEM numbers first. The wide fenders are 2.5" wider each side so should be simple to find out how much wider we would need.

So what is the widest tire and rim for OEM C5 (No poking). If you know ET that would help a lot to, thanks!

Picture for attention

You can fit 18x11 and 18x12 wheels and 315/335 tires without changing fenders. I would think you could go 18x13 or a 19x13 in the back with the wide fenders but a 325R19 or 345R18 tire might be a bit too tall to be practical.

This is not my area of expertise, so I leave this kind of thing to the experts too.

I think I would want to see those fenders mounted before I ordered wheels.
My rears are TPE’s and they add 2” per side, which is the widest current aftermarket rears I am aware of. (Not that I would want them any wider)

Also, if you haven’t seen it yet, up in the stickies above there is a wheel and tire database thread that will give you some good insight on widebody setups. There is also a racing and auto cross section that might provide even more info in line with what you’re looking for.

I called CCW after I decided what fenders I was going with and they knew exactly what specs I needed. When my wheels with tire package combo arrived, all I had to do was bolt them on.

Another thing to consider is brakes. If you plan to upgrade your brakes at any time in the future, make sure you will have spoke to caliper clearance. (Ask me how I learned this nugget of reality!)

Best of luck with your mods brother!

Thanks for your feedback!

In Norway they are strict on everything car related. Så square setup like 18" front and back most likely wouldn`t be accepted. Having all 18" all round would be easier.

I will look into the other threads. But if any has a good answer on maximum with rim and tire and also et on the rim it would be golden :-)

Not sure I understand this part of your post, are you saying a square or staggered wheel set-up is ok? A 10" width wheel with +57 offset and a 11.5" rear with +64 offset are pretty much max widths on a stock fender C5, that will not poke. With the widebody rear fenders, I would probably go with a 12" width rear wheel with a +35 offset.

In Norway you cant change what is factory setup. Corvette has 17 front and 18" in the back. In Norway it illegal to do 18 on all wheels.... If that was the one you dident understnd. My english is not great.

And thanks for the rim info. Exactly what i was looking for

Mr. RCS... Are you saying that in Norway one, by law, cannot hot rod a car!? What a bummer.

Ok, are you allowed to fit 18" front and 19" rears? If not and you have to stay with a 17" front and 18" rear, I would go with a 17x9.5 front wheel with a +53 to +56 offset and a 275 tire. On the rear, I would go with an 18x10 to 18x11 rear, with either a 295/35/18 or 305/35/18 tire, depending on what you can get, in your country.

Let us know if we can help, further.

Yes Norway is strict on changes to a car. Everything needs to be TUV approved or you need to be able to provide papers to show how mutch pollution and so on. But on wheels we can go up/down 5% i think. Si i can go 18/19 as long as im not exeeding 5% rotation...Witch is usualy not a problem.

I ordered wide fenders from Corvette Creations and will go 18 front and 19" in the back. Only wider in the back 2"....Im waiting for a reply from a dealer on what ha can deliver for my wide fenders.

Thanks all for the help! Love this community where many are willing to help etcother

Having R20 both front and rear.

Going to put wider rear, 305 or 315.
Planning to re-paint disks too - and then make a photo-session on wheels

Looks good, but for trackuse i think 18/19 is the "best" compromise. Here i dont think they will allow 19/19 for eks. Only steps up from oem.....

Yep, these ones for sure not for track...
Got disks with car, and no way to sell / swap here - so my only option is to change tires to nice looking and steering ones
And there is no limitations on size here, as far as I'm aware...

Not really full of sand, but yes - it needed some attention
As about country - other side is always looking better

The 10" ET57 front and wide fender rear 12" ET35, is this good in 18" front and 19" rear or would you go different spec in those sizes?
What size tires Wold you go for to not poke but be wide enough to make IT look good. I Will track the car now and then.
Im ordering now so have to get it right the first time :-). Btw thanks for the help!

I have NEVER understood people posting pictures of wider/larger than stock tires from the sides!! Most want to know how far, if any, they protrude from the quarter panels/fenders.......

Same offsets but a 12" rear with +35 offset will require wider fenders, than oem. Just a suggestion for tire options but a 275/35/18 front and 325 or 345 rear in a 30 series aspect ratio, for a 19.
If you plan to install larger brakes, I would go with an 18x9.5 front with a +48 to +50 offset.

Hi, I'll refresh thread a little bit . Have you any photos of lowered C5 on stock fenders with wheels set like this? 10" +57 on front and 11,5" +64 on rear? Thanks for your response .
