As you may know GM does not make/supply the C5 windshield anymore. I found a GM one, but it is for a coupe. Will it fit my vert, would it work ok? Also, the required windshield seal is no longer available, but I got a message from Corvette Rubber that they are making a aftermarket seal, but it won't be available until this Fall sometime at about $600. The required left and right revel moldings are still available from GM however.
There are a few options for replacement windshields. On this particular model, 2001 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 there is a option for a Heads-up display.
In 2001, there are three body styles:
2 Door Convertible
2 Door Coupe
2 Door Hardtop
All three require a different replacement windshield. It can be difficult to tell the difference between the coupe and the hardtop. The hardtop (Z06 only comes in this version) has no removable roof. The coupe has a removable roof section. (I call it a removable roof section because “removable hardtop” make it more confusing)
Corvette windshield replacement... Anybody out there that's done it.. please respond... Is it doable with a positive outlook? Without wind and water leaks? .

I didn't do it personally, but I had it done by a glass shop. Yes, it is certainly possible to do without any issues. I'm not 100% sure if the different types are interchangeable or not. I know the Z06 glass is thinner and lighter than the others, but I don't think it is a different shape than the glass in the convertible. There is also a difference between HUD glass and regular. My replacement was HUD glass for a convertible (which is what I have), and I have not had any issues with it at all.

Reason: corrected typos
The windshields are all the same dimensionally speaking, so yes, it will fit. The Z06 windshield is "different" because it's thinner. And then you have HUD and non-HUD windshields.
So to break it down:
Coupe/Convertible - non-HUD is one windshield
Coupe/Convertible HUD is one windshield
Z06 non-HUD (2001) is one windshield
Z06 HUD is one windshield
All of them will fit in any of the cars, and supposedly using a non-HUD windshield in a car with a HUD doesn't diminish the view that much, either - but there is a coating on the HUD-equipped car windshields to make it easier to see. Dimensionally, though, they are all interchangeable.
My vert is a '99 and while there are apparently aftermarket makers of windshields for the C5, there is a shortage of windshields in general and so the less popular ones are not being manufactured right now until the supplies catch up to demand.
My understanding is that the vert windshield is also thinner (like the Z06). What I need to know is if all C5 windshields are the same shape and thus interchangeable. This would open up a larger pool of potential supply for finding one for my vert.
