Hello everyone I’m thinking of buying a call away honker for my base c5 but I am worried about the hydrolock? Does anyone replace the honker during the winter time with the stock intake? I was thinking removing the top part of the honker and covering the whole with a plate and putting the stock intake back on during the rain since it’s my daily driver what do you guys think of covering the whole with a plate during the raining season and putting the stock intake back on?
I really wouldn't be worried about hydrolock unless you're driving through some deep puddles. The amount of rain water that might get sucked in would be somewhat minimal, and likely wouldn't make it past the filter. It think switching out and covering the hole, would be much more trouble than it's worth for the small gains that you would see in the "dry season".
Don't worry about it
I had a Honker for a while and went through a couple torrential cats-n-dogs downpours. It's fine.
Don't drive through deep water, regardless what intake you have
Cool that’s what I was thinking it’s my daily driver now but soon it will be just a weekend car so I won’t have to worry too much about it. Hp wise I couldn’t find much info on this if I get a Diablo tuner and this honker how much hp can I achieve? Compared to the blackwing?
