Bought a used stock 1999 with auto tranny, 100K miles back in April. Previous owner put on C7 rims. 19 inch in rear, 285/35/19. Recently I decided to floor it at a light. Tires stayed gripped to the blacktop, no spinning wheels. I suppose that is a good thing if I wanted to race someone, but wonder if the car needs a tune or something. It runs great, other than the slight vibration I read all of them have. Doubt I will rag on it, want it to last a long time, but still… a Mustang might pull up next to me someday.
Yes a C5 can certainly spin it's tires. Mine is modded, and I have to be careful NOT to spin my tires. Be glad that yours is well setup, and able to get good traction. With a fully stock A4, stomping the pedal to the floor from a dead stop should result in some drama.

Yes, a C5 can certainly spin the tires. I know my stock 2003 with 3.15 rear gears could do it. Be sure traction control is off (keep competitive driving on if you have active handling). You do have wider tires than normal on the rear, but not so much the tires shouldn't spin.
My C5 in 98 when near new did not spin at all with passenger in car in summer heat good pavement traction control off - just hooked up on a full stomp.3:15’s Tried many times 🤷🏻♂️
When I got my C5 it had Goodyear run flats and it was difficult to not spin the tires. Now with Hankook V12's I have to work harder to break them loose.
The only way I can get my tires to break is when I’m being intentionally stupid by romping on cold tires, mashing the throttle with the wheels turned or sidestepping the clutch.

Pretty eazy. Neutral drop. Hold at 6k and put into drive. You'll get all the spine you want.
In my opinion, completely stock in summer heat in a straight line, NO.....when will it?
1) colder Temps
2) when the wheels are turned and you get on it
3) traction control off and bringing up the rpms up then hit it
4) old hard tires in any weather
5) with a 6 speed- depends on how you launch...
I have a 97 and found it hard to spin. Running a supercharger 7.5 lbs. boost and have to be constantly aware they could break loose any tim I stand on it.
