Default Headlight Upgrade Opinions

Thanks in advance for all opinions.

Drove myself home from the International Space Symposium last night in the rain!
Yes, cardinal sin for Vette owners - rain and darkness on summer rated tires at Interstate speeds.

This was the first time I used/really needed the headlights since I have owned the car ( 1 year in COVID's work from home conditions).
I noticed just like others have mentioned that 1998 headlights don't seem to light up the road like we are now used to with more modern automobiles.
I was thinking that I might update the headlights -- with three possible choices.
The previous owner left an uninstalled kit of HID lamps in the back cubby.
Should I take the trouble to install the HID lamp kit -- OR -- should I install the brighter OSRAM lamps -- OR -- should I get LED replacement lamps?
Any and all opinions are welcome -- even those based on facts!

Drop in HIDs/LEDs belong in one place:

The garbage.

The best cheap upgrade you can do is get a set of HIR bulbs from Daniel Stern Lighting. He sells shielded bulbs that will work properly with your housing and give you almost twice the output in lumens. Anything else will mean changing the housings and spending significantly more.

If you have the funds to upgrade, dump the OEM headlight housings altogether. Convert to LEDs and get it over with. You'll be much happier with the end results.
