Default Best C5 Upgrade For $$$

The best upgrade for a car sometimes aren’t attached to it.
I have spent too many days working in the garage on a 90* day or a cold rainy night replacing/repairing parts on our Corvette that it just got unbearable to work so bought a Mini Split Heat Pump. Now I can plan on installing some real power and handling upgrades that I have had to put aside for a more suitable time and yes; I will also be installing the Heat Pump myself with an electrician bud’s guidance

That is going to be a great addition to your garage. If you’re going to work on the car, might as well be comfortable.

Agreed, I installed AC in the garage years ago. The only issue I have is I spend more time in the garage then the house. Fridge, TV, massage chair, cars and tools. I just need my wife to pay a visit a few times a week.

Living in the upper most corner of the Pacific Northwest we tend be damp and cooler than most areas but from May thru September we have hit 100*+ then factor in our humidity and it just zaps the energy out of anybody working outdoors even worse indoors. I have the wiring completed and pouring a concrete pad this week. My brother in law with a C7 who lives nearby is using me as a Guinea pig for his garage and wants to see how well it heats and cools an insulated garage.

Oh god! Some things are just universal. I lost my recliner for bar stools but yeah; I’m with you at the TV and fridge and visitation rights

Temperature extremes aren't good for the TV. I hope your project works well. I'm really glad I have a garage as my last house didn't. However, I would LOVE to make it super nice like some others here on the forum.

I installed my air conditioner last year in my garage and it's worth every penny. ALL the neighbors want to work in my garage now instead of roasting at over 100 degrees outside. It takes awhile to cool down, but leave it running and it gets to a nice 70-75 in there.

I did not get fancy, I installed a LG 15,000 BTU portable. Simply ran the exhaust out the window with the kit that came with it. Runs on 120 volt, just plug it in. Even has wifi so I can remotely turn it on and off from inside the house. Me being silly, I even added a Google voice command to I can tell the system to turn on from anywhere.

I went this route as it was easier to setup, I didn't need any help with it, and I could have it up and running the day I bought it.

LG window unit here!! Can't get along without it, as I take meds which make me sweat profusely. I sweat almost as much in A/C garage now as I did without it 25 years ago, but only when exerting myself. Otherwise, I'm very comfortable out there. Love it!!

Grinder, I feel for you about that.
It’s tough to not think like we can still get it done ol’school.
Myself; I have to own I survived a heart attack and even though I can accomplish the same job in a longer timeline the drugstore keeps me going now so when given the option of using a hydraulic lift or a heat pump, now it’s actually more for my family and if it makes it easier to help finish the job needed then I gratefully accept the help and hope you are feeling well also.
We all need to have some sort of goal and passion. Just keep going. Good Luck

I have a fan and blow the ac from inside my house into my garage. It works well enough for me especially since I get up early to do work on my C5.

I've had a 36 inch Smart TV mounted outside over my hot tub for 6 years. I just cover it with an outdoor TV cover. Extreme heat and humidity in Summer months. Ice , snow and below freezing temps in the Northeast winters. So far so good.
