Who has put coilovers on their Z? and if where did you get them and was it worth it, How many inches can you lower your car? Thanks for the input :)

you can get them from Doug Rippie Motorsports. they're only worth it if you care about lap times on a road course. you can lower a Z the same amount without coilovers as with them. in either case you can go lower than is practical for a street driven car, ie unable to negotiate driveways, curbs, etc.
fyi - "the ultimate slammed (ricer) look" for a streetable C5 just detracts from performance..

Funny you should ask.
I was just asking the same question and received some interesting answers. I don't have a Z, but I figured you would like the information that I was able to get from Mark at Motor Sport Image & Performance.
The Z06 and regular C5 can both be lowered the same amount with a conversion over to coil overs, because the limiting factor in the front becomes the lower control arm contacting the suspension mounting point (which is the same on both cars). Mark at MSI told me that all of his measurement are made from spindle center line to fender lip opening when discussing suspension ride height, in order to take wheel diameter and tire sizes out of the equation. He said that I could comfortably run a ride height of 14.5" spindle to fenderlip which is about 2 - 2.5 inches lower than stock without constantly bottoming out the suspension. He said that the C5 handles well with the rear the same to 1/2" higher than the front. I went for a ride in his car and the cornering forces were awesome  .
He said that with his adjustable valved shocks with adjustable coilover setup, you can run a little lower but you would have to stiffen up the shock valving to keep from constantly bottoming out and it kills the ride comfort so he doesn't reccomend it for street driving. His car set at 14.5" was about 3.75" from the ground to his rocker panel skid plates. You could see where a few speed bumps had left their signature on his car, and this guy really drives conservatively. Mine are on order and going on my car before I move away. I'll probably still bring my car to MSI for my suspension and brake upgrades as this guy seems to really understand what is going on.

I hope this helps. :steering:
