Default Aux adapter

I have read alot of great threads on installing a aux adapter in a C5 Corvette. I have a CD changer that doesn't work. Has anyone made a adapter that plugs into the rear of the car. Could you just tap into the CD changer plug speaker wire and add a aux adapter.
I have looks up all type of systems and Discount Car has something close but out of stock and you have to have a working CD changer. I have watched a video on taping into the head unit. Why can't I tap into the plug in the back.

Howdy, They do make a installation harnessthat plugs into the back of the original head unit found here: https://www.oemautosound.com/p-594-c...t-adapter.aspx
I purchased mine there, took a couple hours to remove center console, radio bezel, heat/ac head unit, youtube has a few vids. Took me a little longer cause the car is mint and also...you don't have to disconnect the gas door cable as some say.
Just gently move that glove box part back once it's loose to get the shifter section out.

Edit: I re-read and understand now that you wanted to tap the cd changer wire... I didn't have that cd harness installed so this was my only option.

I'm back because I had some confusing issues when I bought this. I first bought a unit from oemautosound called a GM10-Aux. This came with a Isimple PXDX box and a PXHGM2 Harness wire.
The version I bought last year I couldn't find on the site. They now show this unit called GM10-Aux which it seems is also not available anymore: https://www.oemautosound.com/p-30-ch...-gm10-aux.aspx
The PXHGM2 Harness makes it possible to connect/install Peripheral, iSimple, Neo branded PXDX (Aux2car), PCD10, PXDP (iPod2car) in select 1995-05 GM vehicles wired with CD changer. Found here: https://www.discountcarstereo.com/pxhgm2.html
So it seems you can get the PXDX alone here for $60 https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...xBox-PXDX.html

Now I don't have a cd changer so the harness in my first post (
PXHGM4) plugs into radio head unit which is what I used... Hope this helped

Just to confirm: the above kit can be used to wire auxillary input to stock C5 bose stereo without CD changer in the trunk? I have a bone stock 2000 C5 that came without a CD changer from the factory. I am reasonably sure it is not pre-wired for a CD changer. I just want to add a standard Auxillary input to plug the output from my phone.

Yes, this is correct. You need the PXHGM4 connector to plug into the head unit in the dash when you do not have a cd changer installed.
Worked out great! I used a small foam pad between the PXDX box then zip tied to metal brace behind heating unit. Zip tied the Aux input wire to active handling wire harness back to the glove box in center console so I can leave the wire and phone or ipod in the glove box and use charger port in there as well.
