Hi everyone, replacing stock shot shocks, am thinking GM replacements or Monroe’s? I’m just driving not racin nor road rally’s.

The C6 Z06 shocks and C6 Z51 sway bars are a common upgrade. Best bang for the buck?

How much if you dont mind do c6 and z06 c6 shocks the same? Curious previous owner replaced shocks on my c5 with a standard black set. Also whats better about the c6 shocks? Direct fit for c5? No l45 stuff?

The C6 Z06 shocks are an excellent replacement.

Can you identify a set of shocks by looking at them? If these are standard c5 replacement or replacement c6 shocks? Dont mean to thread hijack

The C6Z shocks were valved to hold up a heavier motor (427 has larger internals) than the standard C5 shock. After installation an alignment and ride height check will make for a nice daily driver.

I'm happy with them. They seem to compliment the C5 Z51 springs. When my factory original shocks leaked, I switched to Bilstein Sports. I hated them. Extremely harsh IMO. I regretted not getting the HDs. Eventually I got new oem for the rear and C6 Z06 shocks in front. They feel very similar to oem as opposed to the Bilsteins. (drive over a pebble and it feels like rail road tracks)

for road only use I suggest KYB shocks. Fair price and I've put them on a C4 and now my C5.

+1 for C6 Z06 shocks! I love mine. While you're at it swap out your sway bars for C6 Z51 sway bars. The shocks and sway bars will be a really nice suspension upgrade that improve performance without sacrificing ride quality and comfort.

I did this set up a few years back and was very pleased with the results.
