Default Coolant Hoses

How many coolant hoses are there on a base model C5. I want to change the hoses, and I want to change all of them, but I'm seeing kits that contain 5 to 8 hoses. Is the kit the way to go or should I just buy them individually?

I went with silicone hoses, that came in a complete set. I bought them probably 8-9 years ago, and I seem to recall it was from Forum vendor CCA (Custom Corvette Accessories).

Silicone hoses are really expensive, but maybe they are desirable for racing applications. I could not find a traditional set with all the hoses.

I have a list I can send you with all the hoses and where you can find them, if you wish. Most are on Amazon, but not all of them.

Factory part numbers and Gates part numbers.
I also replaced the Expansion tank, Water pump, Thermostat, all belts, idlers and tensioners.

Thank you, JWingo, for documenting the time and difficulty it took to gather all this information. The rest of us will be able to do the job of hose replacements much easier because of your attention to detail !

JWingo - for compiling and posting the hose info. It surely will help a lot of members who may need to replace their coolant hoses.

I just did this and the only hose that wasn't GM was the lower. I continually found it unavailable.

Thanks to all of you, especially JWingo for your effort in gathering all the part numbers. I will probably use those because the silicone hoses are very expensive, and I don't track the car, and the old hoses have lasted 17 years.

Default Parts List

Attached is the file for a portion of my parts list that may help you to find stuff, and perhaps use as a template. I deleted some columns that showed cost, delivery and install dates, etc. Up to you to add that back in. If you open it, it may state "read only", but just do a "save as" with your own title and folder.

It includes the cooling stuff and some other maintenance items. Importantly, it lists where I found them. Most of these parts were bought in late February, some more recently.

Note: some of the GM hoses include the original style spring constant tension clamps, so someone ordering all this stuff may want to receive the parts before ordering clamps.

It is 9/16th's and you need just under 2ft of it. GM only sells it in 25ft rolls so I bit the bullet 2 weeks ago

Thanks for sharing. I had all the numbers, except the clamps! These suckers seemed hard to find since GM has about a million titles and applications for them. Even some of the parts houses have them titled differently. You bailed me out on this one!
