I bought from Kerbeck back when I bought my 2001 Z. Most dealers did not know their allocation at the time and did not know any details on colors that they would get. I knew exactly what I wanted and when. I called Kerbeck and they guaranteed me that they could meet my requirements. I got it for $1000 off MSRP so that was ok with me. I am a much smarter consumer now. That was my first new vette that I ever bought. I then watched people turning in 01 Z06's about a month later and losing their shirt on the depreciation. You could then buy the car for thousands less. I will know better next time.
Bought my '01 from Les Stanford in Mich. Got the car smogged and registered in CA with no problems at all. As others have mentioned, all vettes are 50 state legal from the factory. If you buy from an out of state dealer and have it courtesy delivered to a CA dealer, you don't even have to hassle with the smog.

That's not exactly true. The only way you don't have to smog a non California car, if you buy from an out of state dealer is the car would have to be California emissioned stamped. Even though it is 50 state legal. Otherwise you will have to get it smogged. At least that is what the DMV told me. Unless you're saying the courtesy delivery is as if you bought the car from a local dealer. If that's the case then I believe you are correct.
:iagree: I found a local dealer who is selling 1% over invoice on any vette (maybe not anniversary edition) through tomorrow. I saw their ad (hint) and thought it was a flim flam but it is true. I am considering buying one tomorrow. Will give the name if I don't buy. Probably no hurry since the discounts and financing will probably continue and I probably shouldn't buy right now with other stuff I've got going. Of course when winter ends, the deals may dry up...
